Notes

Note
Inez Pacheco Aerts is burried with her husband Patrocino Aerts. The cemetary is Sunset Gardens Cemetary in southeast Salt Lake City. Inez was the oldest of her brothers and sisters. Two boys died of small pox when she was a young girl and consequently she had to assume the ranching responsibilities of the family in Rayado New Mexico. Now nothing is there. She used to ride horses in the mountains and is one of a very few people who has seen bears dance. They play a kind of a tag she said. She was not afraid of guns and rode her horse with a rifle for protection. She also always went with a dog to warn her of bears or any danger. My grandmother Inez liked wine and needed a little now and then to help her appetite as she got into her eighties. She said she could only taste trout and venado ‎(deer meat)‎ as she aged. This could easily be her aging and reminiscing of her youth. She was truly of
pioneer vintage with a strong heart. I have found since she and grandpa have
been gone these many years, that there is never anything in life that can
replace your grandparents.
Inez had two other sisters that lived. Eloisa, and Marina. Inez is the
youngest. She said she was about 5 or 6 when Juan Francisco died. I took Inez to the funeral of one of her sisters when I was 17.
